Once I started with this class creation, the busted canvas bug hit me. I had saved a large 16″ x 20″ canvas that had a hole in it last year, just waiting for an idea.

I had so much fun creating these! The 3-D Skeleton Coffin and the Tombstone are all made from cardstock and finished out according to the designer’s instructions. I love how they turned out!

The more I created, the more ideas came to mind and I started on 2 more – another Halloween themed one and a Christmas one. I had hoped to have both completed before the Summit registration went live, but they are still a work in progress. Here is a look at the second Halloween themed design. All of the embellishments are made from cardstock – the 3-D potion bottles, parchment papers, feather quill pen, candle and the layered raven.

I have always loved paper crafting and creating things by hand. It is so satisfying to see it all come together in a project piece.

A busted canvas does not need to be elaborate. From simple to complex, do what speaks to you and go where the creativity and art takes you. My first couple were very simple ones and then the ideas just start to build.
